What should I do if I have an accident with my car?

Modified on Fri, 5 Dec at 2:51 PM

First ensure safety, complete the European accident report, take photos, and immediately call your leasing company and/or roadside assistance (see contact details). They will arrange towing, a replacement vehicle, and sometimes even the repair. Then send all documents to Mobilitypower. Never continue driving with a damaged vehicle that may not be safe.

Step-by-step plan

  • Ensure safety and provide help if needed
  • Complete the European accident report (paper or digital)
  • Take photos of the damage and the situation
  • Notify your leasing company / roadside assistance immediately
  • Have the car towed if necessary
  • Request a replacement vehicle (if included)
  • Report the accident to the leasing company and Mobilitypower
  • Submit all documents and follow up on the claim file
  • Have the car repaired according to further instructions

Additional information

  • If possible, place the vehicle safely, wear your reflective vest, and place the warning triangle.
  • Stand behind the crash barrier if you can. In an emergency, call 112, the single EU emergency number.
  • Use the European accident report (paper or digital).
Not sure how to fill it in? Check our tips here.
  • Take photos of the completed form before handing it to the other party.
  • Take photos of all vehicles involved, their positions on the road, road signs, skid marks, and visible damage.
  • Look up the roadside assistance number in your mobility policy, this portal, or the car’s documents.
  • They will open a claim file and may send a breakdown service. If your car is no longer drivable, they will arrange towing and possibly a replacement vehicle.
  • Submit the accident report, photos, and any police report to Mobilitypower within 24 hours via this form.
  • Are you abroad? Make sure to follow these instructions.
