Where can I charge and what are the differences?

You can charge at home, at work, at public AC charging points, and in exceptional cases also at fast chargers. The differences mainly lie in charging speed, cost, and accessibility.

Additional information

  • Home charging: Usually via a home charging station or a regular socket.
  • Charging at work: Often possible via workplace charging stations, convenient during working hours when the vehicle can remain parked.
  • Public AC charging points: Available at parking areas, shopping centers, etc. Costs can vary significantly, so be mindful of the financial impact for your employer.
  • Fast chargers / DC chargers: Often not allowed or only permitted in exceptional cases under the mobility policy. Mainly found along highways or major junctions. Warning: these can be very expensive and are often not approved by your employer.
  • Accessibility and cards: Some charging points only work with specific cards or tokens; always check whether your charging card is accepted there.
